Psychologists have shared an effective way for insomnia

Scientists estimate that 15-20% of people have short-term sleep disturbance, most often insomnia. It is no wonder that nowadays there are a lot of reasons, not giving us sleep through the night. As a rule, our brain does not want to disconnect from the daily problems and in my head spinning obsessive thoughts.

It turns out that is not necessary to resort to pills for insomnia, if you can’t sleep! Dr. Luz Beaudoin from Simon Fraser University in British Columbia, proposed an interesting method which helps to cope with insomnia: “You can trick your brain to enter it in a state when thoughts are replaced by visual images – as in something similar to a hallucination. But note: without the use of any drugs!”

So, tell about this method.

Select any letter in the alphabet.

Call myself any word that starts with that letter. It is desirable that it did not carry a bright emotional colouring, for example, the letter “K” select the word “clown,” and the word “brick”. Imagine this brick, visualize it. A few seconds slowly “consider” this brick.

Think about other words that begin with that letter, and consistently visualize them the same way as the first word. You have no problem to recall as many words on the letter, not in a hurry!

When you get bored of the visualization, you can come up with a short story about any of those words. And to imagine it in your mind as if watching a movie.

Continue with your experiments until you fall asleep. Some it takes only a couple of minutes, others need 15 to 20 minutes.
