Hugging is good for health
Experts from the medical school Madison University in Viscose claim that the arms contribute not only to get rid of stress, but also help to cope with difficult tasks.
Increased levels of stress are able to disrupt not only the nervous system but functional system of the body. During the embrace the man activates the hormone oxytocin, which regulates the state of mental peace. The study’s author Terry Orbuch said that a few seconds of hugs help to reduce blood pressure and to get rid of a headache, thus being the most simple and affordable method of prevention of stroke and cardiovascular disease.
In the study, researchers confirmed that the arms are the most effective in getting rid of negative influences. For the experiment, the experts invited children aged 7 to 12 years who had to solve the problem in the presence of strangers. The children found it difficult to concentrate on the job due to stress, but after the psychologists advised the girls hugging, the excitement disappeared and all found the correct answer.
