In well-known food scientists have discovered the component playing the role of the medication from the nerve pain caused by patients chemotherapy. This component turned out to be vitamin B3.
A positive effect of vitamin B3 on the human body in the treatment of cancer was recorded by researchers from the University of Iowa, USA.
“In milk and beer contains important vitamin B3, is able to spare patients from side effect of cancer treatment is damage to the nerves. It is known that after chemotherapy in patients with cancer people, can significantly increase the sensitivity, and they regularly face the pain”, – noted in this regard, the American clinicians.
The effect of vitamin B3 was confirmed during testing on the sick rats that received anti-cancer drug. Against this background, of treatment of animals had developed pain due to peripheral neuropathy – damage to peripheral nerves, which pathologically changes the perception of pain.
The animals were divided into groups, and the one where did not receive the vitamin, rodents are especially sensitive to tactile stimuli. But in cases when chemotherapy was combined with the consumption of vitamin supplements, nerve sensitivity of the animals decreased, resulting at the same time to decrease the pain threshold.
