Moroccan scientists recently discovered the creature belongs to the order of fossil molluscs.
Found similarities with snails. This creature received the name Calvapilosa kroegeri.
Thanks to computer tomography, scientists were able to accurately research found fossilized specimens. Well-preserved “snail” moved on the seabed due to a single leg, but comparing with modern clams, it was quite unique. The shell of the mollusk was found was strewn with thorns and horns.
This slim, but very sturdy shell provided the snail protection from enemies. Amazing body, found in shellfish, was the likeness of a skull, which protected the headquarters and Central nerves.
