Archaeologists have discovered a nearly complete skeleton of a saber-toothed tiger.
A group of German archaeologists announced that they found the almost complete skeleton of a European saber-toothed tiger.
Discovery found one of the archaeological sites near Seengen. The excavation project began after the discovery of a small fragment of the skull of a saber-toothed tiger. The bone gave scientists the idea that in the designated area can be detected more fragments of Homotherium latidens.
The name of this species of fossil cat got an unbelievably large lateral incisors of the upper jaw, by which the tiger was hunting. Experts at the University of Leiden say that I was hoping to find a full skeleton of a tiger. The discovery was perfectly preserved on the site.
The remains will pass to the national history Museum, where they will clean and installed in accordance with the natural location.
