Sprite weighs just four grams.
The smallest man-made space ships — Sprite — gave the signal while orbiting the Earth. The launch was made in preparation for the flight of such devices to the neighboring star system of alpha Centauri. About it reported in a press release.
Sprite, which weighs only four grams, was developed by Zac Manchester from Stanford University, USA. According to the inventor, creating nanocables became possible thanks to semiconductor technology development. Most of the functions of such apparatuses can be performed by the device with a single integrated circuit.
Sprite have had predecessors, but they were sent into space without the ability to contact Earth. Other nanocoral should be even less and have a laser sail is a mechanism that allows you to collect the laser light emitted from the Ground. This will allow to develop a speed equal to 20 percent the speed of light.
