The head of the Department of planetary Sciences NASA’s Jim green said the delay by the company SpaceX of works on creation of the Martian ship Red Dragon. This scientist told Spaceflight Now.

In 2016, NASA planned to allocate to the mission of the Red Dragon to about 32 million dollars over four years, which is about one-tenth of the total cost of the programme sending to 2020 landing an unmanned spacecraft on the Red planet.
In July 2017, the head of SpaceX Elon Musk said that among the priorities of the company is the completion of a manned spacecraft to send astronauts to the ISS, and testing heavy the Falcon Heavy. Then it became known that the company is not abandoning project Red Dragon, but was planning to send to Mars a heavier vehicle and after 2020.
