According to the study, acting head of the government and the CDU/CSU scored 55% of respondents ‘ votes. Its key competitor in the elections to the Bundestag, the candidate of the social Democrats Martin Schulz is 35%.

According to the participants of the survey, Infratest dimap, Merkel kept confident his opponent during the discussion a number of themes. Thus, 44% gave preference to the German Chancellor in migration policy and refugees, while Schultz was supported by 39% of respondents.

It was about refugee and migration policy, and the Chancellor defended the decisions made in 2015, and Schultz accused Merkel that she is not sufficiently engaged in addressing the problems of the European countries.

In addition, it was about the place and role of Islam in Germany, about the relations with Turkey and Ankara’s prospects for membership in EU and US politics and Donald trump.
