The President of France Emmanuel macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel has demanded an immediate ceasefire in the Donbass.
This is stated in a joint statement the French and German leaders issued as a result of telephone negotiations “channel four”.
“Violations of the ceasefire must be stopped immediately. The heads of state and government require that implementation of the agreement on cease-fire from June 21, 2017, the progress of the trilateral contact group in Minsk,” the document says.
In addition, Merkel and macron called for the implementation of the Minsk agreements in full scope, including political, economic and humanitarian ties, security issues, and demanded for the exchange of prisoners according to the principle “all for all” by the end of this year.
The heads of Germany and France also stressed the importance of early restoration of economic relations between the parties to the conflict.
