Archaeologists have found the oldest in Argentina made from a metal subject in South America – copper rectangular mask age 3 thousand years
On the finding they reported in the journal Antiquity.
The mask was found near the grave sites.
The dimensions of the mask make 18х15 cm, it features slits for the eyes, nose and mouth. The Deposit of copper ore used for making masks, was 70 km away from tombstone so she was a local production.
