The US special envoy to Ukraine Kurt Volker and adviser to the President of Russia Vladislav Surkov during a meeting in Belgrade discussed the current state of Affairs in the diplomatic field on efforts to end the war in the Donbass.
In a statement issued by the US Embassy in Russia, said that despite the difference in views about how to achieve peace, Washington and Moscow continue to work together in this direction.
“In accordance with the Minsk agreements, there was a need to combine political measures with measures in the field of security. Both sides will analyze the views expressed in the course of the meeting, and will consider further ways of solving this problem”, – said in a statement.
Earlier, Walker said that Russia must withdraw its troops from the occupied territories of Donbass, to the UN peacekeeping mission could begin its work.
