Russia is preparing a provocation on the “autonomy” of Transcarpathia.
The security service of Ukraine foiled another Russian provocation aimed at inciting ethnic hatred in the Transcarpathian region. The structure of the aggressor planned to use the conference of representatives of national minorities, which was to be held in Uzhgorod for the announcement of the appeals of giving the region Autonomous status.

“These slogans were supposed to push the Patriotic forces with the representatives of national minorities in the region. The Russian side planned to attract paid pseudoactivity for instigating riots and confrontations with law enforcement authorities”, – stated in the message. In addition, in the framework of the Russian provocations in the three districts of the region by night posted unauthorized propaganda design with inscriptions in the Hungarian language.
Due to the fact that these banners were installed without permission of the Executive authorities, they were dismantled by communal services. It is established that the dismantled campaign materials were manufactured by a printing company of Kiev to the order of persons who maintain contacts with the Russian information centres. Any local organization for the production and placement of these materials have no relationship.
Also on may 18 the staff of SBU detained the man, who was supposed to provide video of provocations in Transcarpathia. During the conversation with the operatives of the intelligence agencies, he said that for 10 thousand hryvnias received an order for the preparation of biased material from the person using the phone to Russian cellular operator. According to him, he has carried out orders from Russia, in particular, on the coverage of the events of may 2 in Odessa.
“A prerequisite of cooperation between the Russian customer is always put forward adherence to classical for special services of requirements of conspiracy. The citizen was interrogated as a witness within a public informed of criminal proceedings according to article 110 of the Criminal code of Ukraine”, – told in SBU.
