A monument of ancient culture was abandoned because of the indifference of the local authorities.
The temple of Artemis, who is with the Seljuk district of Izmir province have lost the interest of the authorities, was abandoned and turned into a swamp.
The temple is included in the Cultural heritage List of UNESCO and in the list of the seven wonders of the ancient times attracts millions of tourists every year, but, according to Hurriyet daily news, the attraction is neglected.
Dashboard, rust, remains of the ancient temple is more like a dump of rocks of various shapes, excavation site flooded by rain water, there is no path for the passage.
The land on which the Temple belongs to the descendants of Professor Otto Bendorf of Vienna University, which began excavations in 1893. The Ministry of tourism and culture of Turkey has the right to use the Temple, but neither the owner nor the user of one of the seven wonders is not interesting.
