According to the President of the United States, the leader of North Korea has been contained.
Donald trump said that North Korean leader Kim Jong-UN “began to respect America.”
“I think Kim Jong UN is beginning to respect us and I respect this fact. It is possible, though unlikely, that this could be something positive,” said trump during a speech to supporters in Phoenix (Arizona). His speech was shown live by American television.
U.S. Secretary of state Rex Tillerson said earlier that North Korea has demonstrated a certain degree of restraint.
He noted that the country has ceased to conduct missile tests and to take provocative actions following the new UN security Council resolution. In his opinion, this may indicate the willingness of Pyongyang to engage in dialogue.
Earlier, the US and the DPRK exchanged a number of threats. President Donald trump has promised to punish Pyongyang in the event of a possible attack “fire and fury” and expressed the readiness of a military response from the United States.
In turn, the DPRK stated that it is exploring the possibility of a missile attack on the United States military facilities on the island of GUAM in the Pacific ocean.
