Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has promised that after the referendum of 16 April Europe will see “a very different Turkey.”
Turkey may reconsider its relations with the European Union after the constitutional referendum on 16 April. This was stated by the President of Turkey, Recep T. Erdogan.
“After April 16, we will sit at the table and will raise this question. So can not continue. We, Turkey, we will do all that we need,” he said.
“Nothing we won’t be able to threaten – no EU membership, no agreement on readmission. All this period is over. Move on April 16 to a presidential system, and we’re going to have a brand new Turkey. For years the EU pointed to its own criteria, and now you trample on them” – said Erdogan.
“We ask them for what they threw our brother Hussein Kurt to the ground,” reminded the President of Turkey incident, when the Dutch police force was used against Turkish protesters.
