The Pechersky district court of Kiev on Saturday chose a measure of restraint for the detainee on the eve of the Deputy Chairman of the Shevchenko district city administration Viktor Andreev.
He was taken into custody on two months with the alternative of 2 million hryvnia Deposit.
This is stated in the press service of the Prosecutor’s office of Kiev.
Andreev was arrested March 24 on suspicion of creating an organized criminal group that embezzled property of a territorial community on 27 million hryvnias.
The mechanism of the crime, which is imputed to the officer who was in the forgery of documents, which are then used in notary offices for change of ownership. After that the municipal property is issued to the affiliated enterprises and alienated other owners. According to investigators, therefore, from municipal property illegally removed five objects of real estate (uninhabited buildings and apartments) located in the territory of the Shevchenko district.
In addition, the results of investigative actions documented ten facts providing Andreev illegal instructions on a cash withdrawal of public utilities control for which he was committed, for a total amount of about UAH 2 million.
Together with Andreev was detained for his possible accomplice. He, too, was taken into custody, but with less collateral.
“The court granted the Prosecutor’s request and applied to both suspects the measure of restraint in form of detention for a period of 60 days. The court determined in the alternative, a Deposit in the amount of 2 million hryvnia for the official of the district administration, and 480 thousand hryvnia – for his accomplice”, – stated in the message of Prosecutor’s office.
