This weekend in the capital are celebrating the Day of Kyiv. Most of the events scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, but some will begin today.
We have selected the most interesting events, free entrance.
The main location of the celebration will be St. Sophia square. Here Friday–Sunday 10.00 will be dance workshops and concerts. Will compete as a professional and Amateur couples. Friday — the day of tango, Saturday — the day of the waltz, and on Sunday — the day of Ukrainian dance.
Saturday on the square choir will sing the anthem of Kiev and try to beat the record in 2015, when the most massive performance of the song “how you not to love you, my Kyiv” was entered in the Ukrainian Book of records. In conclusion a gala concert, which will start at 16.00 with the participation of more than a hundred artists, including Maria Yaremchuk, MamaRika, Tayanna, and two secret stars, who will perform, after 21.00. On the square will run the food court and fair of Souvenirs UAmade Fest.
On Friday at 11.00 on the Singing field will host an exhibition of flowers “Japan through the eyes of Ukrainians.” After the Japanese sister city of Kiev — Kyoto, there is created a variety of floral arrangements, the Central element of which were the koi (Japanese ornamental fish) and Japanese garden trees niwaki.
On Saturday, may 27, all runners at Kiev Euro Marathon. Time: 08.30–15.00. Route: starting from Bolshaya Vasilkovskaya str., 55 (NSK “Olympic”) through the North gate — street — Shota Rustaveli street — St. zhilyans’ka — Velyka Vasylkivska metro station “Lybidska” — a turn in front of the street Ivan Curls — Bolshaya Vasilkovskaya — St. Physical culture to the NSC “Olympic”, the Southern gate — finish at the NSC “Olympic” (a total of seven rounds at 6 thousand meters). In total, the marathon will be attended by about 3 thousand participants. Movement on the specified route shall this day closed.
Also on may 27, will be held international competitions in Cycling Race Horizon Park Maidan. Time: from 8.00 to 13.00 — female arrival, and from 13.00 to 18.00 — men’s. The Route: Ul. Khreshchatyk, Bessarabsky square Blvd. Taras Shevchenko — Pobeda Ave. (turn at the metro station “Nivki”) — St. Shcherbakov — European area. At the specified time traffic on these routes will be limited. On may 28th, the race will be on this route: street Grinchenko str Kirovograd — PR-t lobanovskogo str Golovko — street — St. Protasov Yar. The traffic will be closed from 08.00 to 16.00.
Sunday, 28 may, 25 outdoor athletics charity “Run under chestnuts” will be from 10.00 to 12.00. Already registered more than 10 thousand members (individual members can do before the run 08.00-09.55 at the registration tent at St. Michael’s square). Route: Mykhailivska square — Vladimirsky passage — Sophia square — street Vladimir — Bohdana Khmelnitskogo str — str — turn near the independence square and in the opposite direction. Movement on the specified route will be closed from about 9:00 and the night will be partially offset by Vladimirskiy travel.
Also on Sunday, may 28, the capital in the second half of the day will be a traditional championship family sports.
