Hydra-Terra – development of the American company.
The U.S. company, Cool Amphibious Manufacturers International (CAMI) for many years has been designing cars that can drive on roads, and also to stay on the water. One of these developments – the bus is amphibious Hydra-Terra, which has already proved its practicality and sympathy of passengers.
The bus is amphibious Hydra-Terra is a new concept of universal vehicle, which, according to the developers, it is impossible to drown. The hull is a V-shaped length of 9 or 12 meters easily cuts the water. It is made of a lightweight material with lots of compartments filled with foam. Even if the ship will get damaged and the engine room is flooded, the bus will not sink.
The U.S. coast guard has tested Hydra-Terra and issued the certificate of seaworthiness in waves up to 1 meter. CAMI and the company has successfully tested the bus on the waves up to 2.4 meters.
In the cabin the Hydra-Terra is placed from 32 or 49 passengers, depending on the length of the bus and placement of seats. Basic set – seats simple shapes, upholstered in vinyl. The surcharge can be set other options: low-back, pockets for clothes, shelves for food.
The Central location of the helm enhances visibility and is very comfortable for the captain. The cabin is located all the elements necessary for the management of the amphibian on land and in water, including radio and marine navigation instruments. The crew – 2 people.
The amphibious bus has proved popular in many countries: USA, Bermuda, Dubai, England, Ireland, Japan, Malaysia. The Hydra-Terra is used for sightseeing tours, transport groups of people and outdoor recreation. And Prince Abdullah of Saudi Arabia Saud built the Hydra-Terra in a special configuration.
In the basic version of the Hydra-Terra has airbag for driver, special glass, suspended to the roof. For extra charge you can get all wheel drive, bathroom, outboard engine and diesel generator. It is worth noting that the car is not cheap: from 379 thousand dollars.
