The Russian singer has confirmed that performed in the annexed Crimea.
The representative of Russia at Eurovision-2017 Julia Samoilov has confirmed the information about his speech in Crimea after it had been occupied by Russia.
“I played in Kerch — the same as in any other city, I have sang. I don’t remember exactly what it was for a concert. In my opinion, some sort of sports theme. Ordinary concert, everything was in order, I don’t know that so touched this at all,” said the singer.
She noted that he did not know that her trip to the Crimea is a violation of the Ukrainian legislation. She also said that Ukrainian law enforcers did not ask her regarding the performance in the occupied Crimea. “Nobody called me, asked nothing.
I usually call journalists to ask any questions,” said Samoylova.
The actress also noted that while not discussed with the organizers of the trip on the Eurovision situation in which it may not be allowed on the territory of Ukraine. “I hadn’t thought of that. I just prepared a song. I don’t know what will happen, so be it”, she confessed.
