Renault in a new video he said all the details about Renault Megane RS new generation. This new “charged” hatchback debuted two months ago during the motor show in Frankfurt.
Renault representatives say that the new Megane RS is the “beast that will soon appear on the road.” Thus they emphasize the power and speed of this novelty. Well, the comparison is, of course, not really, but we accept it. Moreover, the design of this hatchback is very impressive.
Renault says that the new Megane RS (recall that RS is the Renault Sport) has improved the traction at any speed. This was achieved thanks to new suspension and new steering. The hatchback has a new mode of movement – “the Race”. It is designed for use on race tracks.
This novelty will be offered in two versions – standard and Trophy. The standard version is equipped with a new 1.8 liter turbo engine taken from the Alpine A110. It has a capacity of 276 HP (according to other sources – 280 HP) and 390 Nm of torque. To 100 km/h the car will accelerate for 6 seconds, or even faster. The maximum speed reaches 250 km/h.
Version of the Trophy will receive an upgraded engine producing 296 HP It will be a little externally and technically different from the standard version. The engine works in a pair or with a 6-speed manual transmission or 6-speed automatic transmission with double clutch.
Renault-Megane-RS-2we believe that the new Megane sport will try to beat the record of the Honda Civic Type R speed at the Nurburgring. For this, the French have to go 20.7 km in less than 7 minutes and 43.8 seconds.
