The decision to return the occupied territory of Ukraine would be a blow to the credibility of Vladimir Putin.
Journalist Vitaly Portnikov told what is dangerous for Ukraine, “passport”, ADRLO.
He wrote about this in his article for “Kontraktovaya”.
“Putin’s decree on provisional recognition of documents issued by “administrations so-called people’s republics” are actually translated the structures of “DNR”and “LNR” in the Russian legal field,” – said the journalist.
According to Portnikov, the situation worsened in the Donbass, when the fighters of the fake republics announced the “nationalization” of the companies that belong to Ukrainian owners.
Because these businesses were sold in Ukraine products, to pay taxes and pay wages to their employees. They were one of the last elements of the Ukrainian presence in the occupied Donbas, and now it will not.
Why the new action for the annexation of Donbas, the Kremlin has begun only now, three years after the outbreak of hostilities? Putin resisted not only the Minsk agreement. He could feel the Donbass as a bargaining chip in bargaining with the new American administration. In his opinion, the decision to return the occupied territory of Ukraine would be a blow to the credibility of Vladimir Putin. And as you know, over the past 25 years Russia did not return any annexed territories.
“The so-called decree “on the recognition of passports” is presented as a temporary measure associated with the Minsk agreements, and “nationalization” of Ukrainian enterprises does not look the initiative, a response to the blockade of Donbass. But doubt should not be – if Putin will lose hope for understanding with trump, annexation (actual or formal) will happen”, – concluded the expert.
