The President criticized the consequences of the blockade.
President Petro Poroshenko said that the blockade of the Donbass led to the capture of the separatists of Ukrainian enterprises in the DNI and LC, which was planned to be used as a springboard in the process of returning of territories.
“It has destroyed Ukraine in the Donbass, is a very dangerous strategy and threat actions”, – said the head of state in an interview to Ukrainian TV channels.
He noted that Ukrainian enterprises in the “Republic” were the only places where taxes were paid and “the people who worked at the major Ukrainian enterprises in the occupied territories, but under Ukrainian jurisdiction – a clear understanding of what is Ukraine”.
“It was such Islands of Ukraine. The anchor on which this territory was held for Ukraine. And, of course, we were going to use them in case of reintegration, the return of Ukraine to the Donbass and the return of Donbass in Ukraine. It was the basic springboard”, – he said.
Poroshenko also said that the blockade will be lifted, if the enterprise in uncontrolled territories will be returned to the Ukrainian owners and will be observed the ceasefire.
“We say: bring back enterprise Ukrainian owners, regardless of whether the state is a form of ownership or not. Because state ownership captured. Provide first and second paragraph of the Minsk agreement – a ceasefire and withdrawal of heavy equipment and artillery, and we remove the restrictive measures”, – he said.
