The revolution always devours its children
Close to President Vladimir Putin, actor Gennady Khazanov in 2007, made a strong statement about democracy in Ukraine.
A snippet of his interview with Dmitry Gordon published by Russian political scientist Stanislav Belkovsky on his page on the social network Facebook.
“Democracy, which is now spoken in Ukraine is at the stage of milky-wax ripeness. Hitler in Germany, too, chose the legitimate, democratically. Slavery, sitting inside of the people inhabiting the post-Soviet space, has centuries-old roots. It’s genetics. A simple man does not want any shocks. The phrase “just war” is irritating, saying that you are a war stuck. And when it became a reality… When people don’t know what will happen to them tomorrow… the Revolution always devours its children,” he said.
