In the upcoming spin-off of “Sons of Anarchy,” “Mayans MC”, approved by the actor in a leading role. According to the publication The Hollywood Reporter, twice winner of the “Golden globe” Edward James Olmos (“Fire season”) will play a major role in the upcoming series of the channel FX, which develops the original Creator of the show Kurt Sutter.
The action in “Mayans MC” takes place after the events of “Sons of Anarchy” and centers around Eza Rise, candidate to the office of the Mayan motorcycle club on the border between California and Mexico. Olmos will play Felipe Rise, the Patriarch of the family who wants to bury his criminal past as deeply as possible and struggling to make his own sons followed the correct, lawful way.
Sutter will act as the co-writer along with his partner Algina James and will shoot a pilot episode. “I wanted to find a strong, unique Latin voice. I don’t think that white boy from Jersey worth writing about Latin American culture and traditions. Elgin has such a voice,” said at the time Sutter.
