“I will meet with foreign Minister Lavrov in Munich. We have previously met on the sidelines of the Munich security conference… I believe it provides a useful basis for continuation of dialogue with Russia”, – said Stoltenberg.
The NATO Secretary General said that the parties will discuss a wide range of issues, including the situation in Ukraine, as well as ways to prevent stress.
At the same time, he stressed once again that Ukraine is a close partner of NATO.
“NATO will continue to support Ukraine. We provide strong political support for Ukraine, its sovereignty and territorial integrity. Through practical support, we help to modernize its Armed forces, to carry out reforms,” – said Stoltenberg.
The NATO Secretary General confirmed that, at the invitation of Kiev, NATO North Atlantic Council, will hold this year’s retreat in the Ukraine.
