The highest average salary was registered in Kyiv.
In four regions of Ukraine wages exceeded the average for Ukraine. This trend was observed from January to may 2018 in the city of Kiev, Donetsk, Kyiv and Dnipropetrovsk regions, said on Friday, July 6, the press service of the State statistics.
In the state statistics service reported that the average wage in all regions of Ukraine was above the level of the minimum wage. However, only in four regions wage exceeded the average for Ukraine.
In particular, in Kiev, the average wage amounted to 12721 UAH, Donetsk region – 9173 hryvnia, the Kiev – 8392 UAH, and the Dnipropetrovsk – 8237 hryvnia. While in Kherson, Chernihiv, Ternopil and Chernivtsi regions recorded low level of wages (which did not exceed 79% of the average wage in Ukraine).
It is noted that in January-may 2018 in Ukraine, the average nominal wage amounted to UAH 8225 and compared with the corresponding period of the previous year increased by 26.7%.
According to the state statistics service, real wages grew by 11.8% compared with the corresponding period last year. We will remind, at the end of June 2018, it was reported that the unemployment rate in Ukraine is gradually decreasing and at the end of the first quarter was 9.7% versus 9.9% in the previous quarter.
