Ukraine’s integration into the Alliance will take place in the foreseeable future, says the head of the foreign Ministry.
Ukraine integrated into NATO much faster than many skeptics believe.
This opinion was expressed by Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin in the air of one of Ukrainian TV channels.
According to the Minister, the Ukrainian side reaches the standards of the Alliance gradually, but now all the members understand that Ukraine is able to make a unique contribution to safety.
I am sure that this integration is possible. And she is the only one possible for Ukraine, and for NATO. This will happen in the foreseeable future… But I think, and if you want, that’s my political statement, that we will be in NATO faster than many of those who now believes in nothing, in principle, I think, – said Klimkin.
According to the Minister, Ukraine’s accession to NATO is not a matter of decades. Klimkin added that to achieve this, Kiev must do all that is necessary – not only in the sphere of security and defence, but also in the area of democracy and rule of law.
