Test the first solar road appeared in the state of Georgia.
While it is just 538 square meters on a standard asphalt track, but this is only the beginning. The company Wattway, who built the test section planned testing of renewable energy sources along the entire route.
Every year just on this route length-30 km emitted 5 million tonnes of carbon dioxide. Now it is chosen as a natural laboratory for testing green technologies. In addition to the solar station, along the route there are stations charging of electric vehicles, which feed on the energy of the sun. There is a control tyre pressure — incorrect pressure reduces the vehicle’s efficiency and increases emissions.
According to expectations, this section of the road will produce 7,000 kWh of energy per year. It will be used to power standing next to infrastructure. Initiative with sun darling only the beginning.
