As a response to the extension of EU sanctions Russia could impose an embargo on the supply of mineral water of these countries.
On Wednesday, June 28, said the head of the Organization of small and medium entrepreneurship “OPORA Russia” Alexander Kalinin.
“Russia is a country number one in the world reserves of water. Why then should we import the filtered tap water from unfriendly countries when we have our own excellent sources, such as the “Arkhyz”, “Essentuki”?” — said Kalinin.
On the background of anti-Russian sanctions in restaurants in large cities offer water from Italy or the UK, drew the attention of the interlocutor of the Agency. “This is in direct conflict with the interests of the domestic producers of water,” he said. An embargo on the supply of mineral water will contribute to the development of the extraction and processing of this product in the country, said Kalinin.
Earlier on 28 June, the EU extended economic sanctions against Russia. The restrictions will be in effect until January 31, 2018.
A number of countries, including member States of the European Union and the US imposed restrictive measures against Moscow in 2014, linking them with the annexation of Crimea to Russia, and then the conflict in the South-East of Ukraine. The lifting of sanctions linked to the execution of Moscow signed in February of 2015, the Minsk agreements to stabilize the situation in the Donbass. Russia has repeatedly said that is not a party to the conflict in Ukraine, therefore, the responsibility for the implementation of the provisions lies with the Kiev authorities and militia leaders.
