Polyudova has said it will continue to engage in political activities after a short rest.
Russian activist Darya Polyudova, who was sentenced in the case of calls for separatism and extremism, October 20, was released after nearly two years in a penal colony.
After the liberation Polyudova has said it will continue to engage in political activities after a short rest, Radio Liberty reports. During detention the activist held several hunger strikes.
She protested against the brutal treatment in a prison in the southern Russian city of Novorossiysk.
Poljudovo sentenced to two years in colony-settlement in 2015. She was accused of separatism and extremism for the census images with the text “Ethnic Kuban Ukrainians want to join the Ukraine”, as well as a record that Polyudova places the responsibility for the problems in Russia on President Vladimir Putin and asked why Russians are not able to overthrow the regime, as did the Ukrainians.
At the beginning of October 2016 Polyudova appealed against the verdict to the European court of human rights. The human rights center “memorial” made it to the list of Russian political prisoners.
