In Chernihiv in the evening on February 19 held a March of gun owners.
The participants were about 150 Chernigov, mostly veterans of the ATO and young people, some of them wearing balaclavas. According to co-organizer of the action Maxim of Konashevych, the event is timed to the 3rd anniversary of the shootings on the Maidan, and to draw attention to the necessity of the legalization of weapons.
He stated that has still not adopted the law on weapons, although the citizens have a need for protection. Konashevich is convinced that at the legislative level should be legalized carrying of weapons, “to never repeat the chaos of mass executions of demonstrators.” The public activist is sure that gun owners are responsible citizens, and the legalization of handguns would be less danger than now, when the spread of illegal arms trafficking and to cost it was cheaper than before the beginning of the ATO.
The marchers walked from the Megacenter at the Avenue of the World, they carried a banner reading “Guns, your right, protection is your duty.” Police accompanied the convoy movement, traffic was temporarily blocked.
The March ended near the St. Catherine Church. Near the monument “to Fighters for freedom and independence of Ukraine” participants sang the national anthem.
The organizers of the March were made by the local public organization “North building”, “Boys of the Northern capital”, “OUN – Pivnich”.
