Brussels summit begins, NATO.
Wednesday, July 11, at the headquarters of the Alliance kicks off two-day NATO summit, which will bring together the leaders of countries-NATO members and partners, including Ukraine.
The summit will discuss the strengthening of the deterrence and defence posture of the Alliance, ensuring global and regional stability, combating terrorism, and enhancing cooperation with the European Union, the modernization of NATO, a fair distribution of financial costs of defense among allies, and the assertion of democratic values and the firmness of TRANS-Atlantic unity.
Thursday, July 12, the North Atlantic Council at the level of heads of state and government of countries-members of NATO will meet with the presidents of Ukraine and Georgia.
President Petro Poroshenko will make a joint statement with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
The Ukrainian President will also participate in a session devoted to the NATO mission in Afghanistan, and will hold a series of bilateral meetings.
