GAZ, a leading Russian manufacturer of commercial vehicles, is at the St. Petersburg international gas forum new modifications of cars.
Minibus “GAZelle NEXT of 4.6” with the engine Evotech 3.0 CNG is designed for Shuttle bus and is designed for 22 passengers. “Gazon NEXT 10 LNG/CNG” with the engine JAMZ-534 — medium-duty truck with a combined fuel system can run on two types of gas: LNG (liquefied natural gas) and CNG (compressed natural gas).
Both of the presented car is pre-production copies. Car sales in the dealer network, the GAS will begin in the second half of 2020.
Natural gas is the most cost effective used today for commercial transportation fuels. Its use in cargo and Shuttle transportation ensures minimum fuel costs per kilometer. IX St. Petersburg international gas forum will be held in Congress and exhibition center “Expoforum” from 2 to 4 October.
“Gazon NEXT 10 LNG/CNG” is designed for intensive use on routes with large runs. Basic fuel system the car runs on LNG (liquefied natural gas) — a liquefied natural gas (methane) cooled to a temperature of minus 162 degrees. LNG-tank is a thermos designed for as long as possible maintain a low fuel temperature. Additional fuel system runs on CNG (compressed natural gas) compressed natural gas. Gas tank volume of LNG — 220 l, the volume of CNG cylinders of 40 cubic meters Total reserve car on one filling — 900 km (700 km for LNG, 200 km on CNG).
The car has a gas engine YAMZ-534. Maximum engine power — 170 HP, maximum torque of 600 Nm. Maximum speed — 105 km/h.
At comparable volumes fuel tank LNG provides 3 times greater range than CNG. In this regard, the operation of such vehicles is most beneficial for large daily mileages.
Minibus “GAZelle NEXT CNG 4.6” is designed for the transportation of 22 passengers (19 seats and 3 standing places). The car has upgraded gas-petrol engine EvoTech 3.0. Increasing the working volume of the power unit to 3 liters (compared to the 2.7 l in the previous version of the engine EvoTech 2.7), cast iron engine block, new crankshaft and camshafts, piston and cylinder head and other technical changes reduce the heat load and increase the stability of the power unit at high temperatures. Engine power increased to 122 HP when driving on petrol (when moving compressed gas 107 HP) and maximum torque of 250 Nm (220 Nm with the movement, compressed gas).
The use of natural gas as a motor fuel can reduce fuel costs by 40-50% (depending on the mileage and characteristics of a particular model) compared to gasoline and diesel fuel.
