Apple found a use for the unsold iPad Air 2
The owners of the fourth generation iPad, which will need to replace the device under warranty, will give a more modern iPad Air 2.
iPad 4 was launched in October 2012. The device has a 2-core A6X processor, clocked at 1.4 GHz, and is equipped with 4-core graphics. In 2013 Apple released a modification with 128 GB of memory.
IPad Air 2 debuted in October 2014, two years after the iPad 4. The device is based on 64-bit A8X chip, which performance is substantially superior to the A6X, and feature a fingerprint scanner. Despite such a significant difference in performance between models, Apple decided to change iPad 4 iPad Air 2.
iPad 4 was sold with a memory 16 and 64 GB. Under the replacement program on iPad Air 2 customers of Apple can get the devices with 32 and 128 GB of internal memory. Pretty generous move on the part of the manufacturer.
If Apple can’t fix iPad 4, the company will replace it with a iPad Air 2. The service technician was instructed to replace at no additional charge.
