Meteorologists say, that the fear of severe cold is not worth it.
In Ukraine in winter the average temperature will be either normal or a few degrees higher, long strong frost is expected. This at a press conference said the head of the Department of climate research and long-term forecasts of the Ukrainian research meteorological Institute of the NAS of Ukraine Wazir Martazinova.
According to her, in December, the majority of the territory of Ukraine the temperature will be at the level of 3-4 degrees Celsius, and Western regions – in the range of zero. Heavy precipitation in December is expected that usually they will be in the form of rain or wet snow. In the middle of the month possible sleet.
Before the New year, on 27 and 28 December, there will be a short cold snap, but right at the new year’s eve is expected to short-term warming.
In January the temperature will be within the normal or a few degrees higher, from 3 to 5 degrees below zero. Precipitation in the Western, North-Western and Northern regions are within the norm and above the norm in the Crimea and Donetsk region there is a plethora of precipitation. In some Central and Eastern regions (Kirovohrad, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv and Luhansk region) is a precipitation deficit.
In February, as precipitation will be within normal or above normal, the average temperature for the month will be from 3 to 6 degrees below zero. Strong precipitation, likely snow.
In General, according to V. Martazinova, very low temperatures in winter are expected. The coolest is December and the first half of January, but during the second half of winter temperature will be higher.
