According to government and United Nations, around 100 thousand people in southern Sudan facing famine, 1 million people are on the verge of starvation.
As experts explain, the situation with food is associated with civil war and economic crisis.
Analysts say that in the area are also at risk countries such as Yemen, Somalia and Northern Nigeria, stressing that only in South Sudan, the famine was first recognized officially for the last 6 years.
According to the world food programme, the UN children’s Fund UNICEF, 4.9 million people – more than 40% of the population of southern Sudan is in dire need of food.
