Now the draft of the new Rexton is known under the internal designation C300
The design of the SsangYong Rexton SUV next generation will be engaged in Studio Pininfarina.
This was stated by the head of the South Korean brand Jeong-Sik Choi.
At the moment, SsangYong and Italian design Studio are under the control of one company of the Indian Mahindra & Mahindra, which acquired three-fourths of the shares of Pininfarina for about 170 million dollars.
Now the draft of the new Rexton is known under the internal designation C300. Development of the SUV, the fifth generation began in the fall of 2016, and its production scheduled for the end of 2021 or the beginning of 2022.
SsangYong Rexton fourth generation debuted in March, and sales should start before the end of this year. The flagship SUV is built on a new basis with a frame of high-strength steel, was about 50 pounds lighter.
Depending on the market, Rexton is available with a 181-horsepower supercharged diesel engine displacement of 2.2 liters, which is paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission Mercedes-Benz. In addition, the SUV will be offered with naduvnoj two-liter petrol “four” power of 225 HP, combined with six-speed automatic transmission Aisin.
