Facebook is testing a travel guide in the app for iOS and Android
A new Facebook service called “City Guides” and is designed to study and provide recommendations on local attractions, activities, restaurants and other interesting places.
City Guides shows you which friends have already visited the city and where they were, for example: restaurants, hotels and museums. The algorithm receives information on the basis of their publications and has photos geotagging. Also available will be information about the weather and local time of the selected city.
“We are testing a function that displays information about your or any selected city. City Guides will help people to better know your city, as well as those who visited their friends”, — told to submit Facebook
The update came out and tested in a mobile application for iOS and Android, but is accessible to a limited number of users. When City Guides will be available to all users and will there be a web version is unknown.
