At the same time, according to the report, the minimum standards correspond to 96% of the coast countries. In five countries the quality of water is recognized as excellent by almost all the beaches: Luxembourg (100%), Cyprus (99%), Malta (99%), Greece (97%) and Austria (95%).
In addition, the number of coasts of the poor condition of the water was reduced in 2016 from 383 to 318, amounting to 1.5% of the total number of beaches. Most such places were discovered in Italy, France and Spain.
