113-year-old Israeli died from old age.
In Israel, died the oldest man in the world – 113-year-old Israel Crystal.
He died a drunkard, August 11, and only about a month did not live up to its 114 anniversary, according to the publication Haaretz.
Israel Crystal was recognized as the oldest man in the world after the death of the Japanese Astro Koidu in 2016.
Israelite was born in September 1903 in the Polish village, was then part of the Russian Empire. At the age of 17 he moved to Lodz, where he married and engaged in the confectionery business.
After the occupation of Poland by Nazi Germany Crystal was in the ghetto and then to concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau. His wife and two children were killed during the Holocaust.
When ended the Second world war, Israel Crystal remarried and subsequently moved to Israel where he continued his confectionery business. He had two children, had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
When last year a representative of the Guinness Book of records told him that he was indeed the oldest man in the world, Crystal replied that it doesn’t matter. When asked whether there was a secret to his longevity, he replied: “everyone has their own temper, it is given from heaven, there are no secrets.”
Crystal, who lived for a century and witnessed two world wars, said that the world today is in the worst condition.
“The world is worse than in the past,” he said. “I don’t like the permissiveness here. Everything is permitted. Nowadays young people was not as hard as it is now. They had to think about the profession and about how to earn a living. It was carpenters, tailors. This today no longer exists. Now all high-tech. Things go easily, effortlessly, without manual labor of the past. When we were kids, our parents told us: “You drugawareness on this, not this”. Today children decide everything. When parents had the last word.”
We will remind, in the Italian city Verbania, died the oldest inhabitant of the planet Emma Morano. Last year she was 117 years old. She was the only one in the world who was born in the XIX century – 29 Nov 1899. Emma Morano has lived in three centuries, saw in his lifetime the two world wars and endured the eleven Popes. At the end of her life she was hard of hearing and nearly blind.
