Unusual technology passed the state certification.
The world’s first quantum secure line of communication, created in China, passed technical inspection and is ready to start operation, according to the University of science and technology of China.
Recall that the line of quantum communication is completed after 42 months of construction last year, connects the four major cities — Beijing, Jinan, Hefei and Shanghai. Its total length is more than 2000 km Commercial use of some sections of this line have already begun, first it will use officials, representatives of banks and industrial enterprises.
Quantum communication provides a highly reliable communication based on the transmission of photonic qubits by the method of quantum key distribution. It is believed that transmitted the information thus it is impossible to eavesdrop, intercept or hack. Any such attempt would distort the transmitted signal, and the fact that hacking will become obvious.
China belong to a few “first places” in the field of quantum communication — the world’s first communication line linking Beijing and Shanghai, the first commercial quantum line between Shanghai and Hangzhou, the first quantum data transmission by satellite “Mo Tzu”.
