American electronics manufacturer Apple again topped the ranking of most respected companies compiled annually by Fortune magazine based on a poll of 3,800 analysts, managers of different companies and industry experts.

They evaluated the activity of the companies according to various factors, including innovation, human resources, social responsibility, competitiveness in world markets, quality of products and services, financial stability, etc.

For the tenth consecutive time Apple acknowledged as the most respected company. Second place went to Amazon, and the top three of leaders was closed by Starbucks. Google, which in 2016 was located in the second position, a year later, dropped to sixth. The top ten also includes Facebook and Microsoft. And the last in 2016 took only 20th place.

In the top 50 most reputable companies according to Fortune magazine also includes IBM (24th place), AT&T (37th) and Intel (46th). In addition, the list includes Activision Blizzard, Adobe Systems, Corning, Electronic Arts, eBay, Hitachi, Nokia and Nvidia. Particularly worth noting is Samsung, which in 2017 fell out of the list of most respected companies, while a year earlier the South Korean giant was located on the 30-th line. The decline is associated with the review of the flagship smartphone Galaxy Note 7, which turned out to be unusable due to explosive batteries.

Apple once again become the most respected company due to the high sales of computers and iPhone smartphones, as well as the rise of prices. Fortune also noted such achievements as the release of the MacBook Pro with Touch panel Bar, “smart” watches Apple Watch Series 2 and iPhone SE.

It is worth noting that Apple holds the first place in some other ratings. Thus, the company four years in a row as the most valuable brand by the international consultancy Interbrand, specializing in the valuation of intellectual property.

According to Interbrand, in 2016, the brand value of Apple amounted to 178.1 billion, which is 5% higher than a year ago. In the second position, and a year and two years earlier, settled by Google with a valuation of a cash consideration of 133,3 billion, which on an annual basis rose by 11%.
