In April, we reported that pilot one-hour episode of the show “Keys of Locke” for the streaming service Hulu will remove Scott Derrickson. Given that his Derrickson such hits as “Doctor strange” and “Sinister”, and “Keys…” is a great adaptation of the graphic novel authored by Joe hill – our joy then knew no bounds. And here on “the bridge” project was the replacement, but we still love it!
Derrickson dropped out of the project due to high employment in another television show, snow piercer (Snowpiercer) from TNT. To replace him came none other than Andres, Moschetti, a talented young Director, “shot” horror, “Mom” and who directed the new version of “It”, the premiere of which we expect in September.
Notice what funny coincidences accompany career Moscetti? First, he has replaced on a post of the Director “It” Cary Fukunaga, who dropped out of the project due to creative conflicts. Now Andres again substitute another Director. Moreover, if “It” is an adaptation of the novel by Stephen king, “the Keys of Locke” – adaptation by Joe hill, a native son of the king!
The plot of “Locke Key” tells the story of three relatives who, after the brutal murder of their father, Rendell Locke, we enter the mysterious house full of keys of unknown origin. The mystical feature is that the keys they give their holders amazing abilities, but the young Locke are not the only one who is interested in using these artifacts.
Russian was officially published the first part of the cycle, “Welcome to Lovecraft”, which we managed to review. I wrote about this comic:
Hill tells a nonlinear story, with a lot of flashbacks, but very hard boiled – those are the ones that let you stop until you finish reading to the end.
The Hulu project is not the first attempt of adaptation of the “Locke Key” for the small screen. In 2011, mark Romanek took another test episode, which was shown at Comiccon in San Diego, but more of a pilot then it is not gone.
