Rise in the price of beer and fortified wine.
The government has approved a bill that would increase excise taxes on cigarettes, beer, fortified wine and alcohol.

It is proposed to increase the excise tax on beer from 2.78 hryvnia/liter to 3.09 hryvnia/liter, fortified wine and vermouth from 8.02 to 8.92, sparkling from 11.65 to 12.95 hryvnia/liter, cider, Perry and other fermented beverages – from 129,96 to 141,18 hryvnia per 1 liter of pure alcohol, cider and peri without the addition of alcohol from 1.06 to 1.18 hryvnia/liter of the beverage.
It is also proposed to raise the excise duty on ethyl alcohol with 126,96 to 141,18 hryvnia per 1 liter of pure alcohol; products containing ethyl alcohol of 8.5% or more – with 169,27 to 188,23 hryvnia per 1 liter of pure alcohol.
Excise duty on wine remains unchanged (0.01 UAH).
Specific rate for cigarettes with filter and without, will be increased from 445,56 495,46 of the hryvnia to UAH per 1 000 pieces, the ad valorem rate remains at 12%.
The minimum excise tax liability of payment of excise tax on tobacco products for cigarettes with filter and without will be enhanced with 596,05 to 662,81 rate of 1 thousand pieces.
For raw tobacco and waste tobacco substitutes, homogenized tobacco, tobacco extracts and essences excise is planned to increase from 559,78 to 622,48 hryvnia/kg, as for cigars and cigarillos.
