Pamela Gale Malhotra (Pamela Gale Malhotra) and her husband, Anil Malhotra (Anil Malhotra), are the owners of the SAI Sanctuary, the only private wildlife sanctuary in India.
In 1991, they purchased an abandoned plot of land where once was rain forest, and over the past 26 years has managed to breathe new life into the reserve.
District Kodagu in the southern part of India suffers from severe deforestation. Pamela Gale Malhotra and her husband, Anil Malhotra, decided to fight it. In 1991 they became the founders of the SAI sanctuary. Since they are doing that transplanted trees and expand the limits of the reserve. He currently covers more than 120 hectares of wild nature.
This region is home to about 200 endangered species of plants and animals. “When we first came here, the majority of purchased land was abandoned,” says the couple. “It took a lot of time and effort to get everything back to normal”.
“Now this place was alive and filled with the sounds of nature.” Pamela hopes that this place will continue to be protected and expanded.
