Street photography is considered one of the most popular genres. Photographer Skander, Hlif originally from Tunisia, now living and working in Germany and loves traveling. He recently presented a series of pictures from Vienna, on black-and-white footage captured by residents of this wonderful city.
Childhood Skander Chlifa (Skander Khlif) held in Tunis, where he became interested in street photography, often went out with camera in the yard, shooting their friends, relatives, neighbors. After moving to Munich Skander felt how very different Europe from its traditional way of life, and, of course, tried to capture everything that caught his attention. The latest series Skander made in Austria and named “views of Vienna”.
Their mentors Skander said Henri Cartier-Bresson and Vivian Maier. For example the works of these recognized masters of it and improve their skills of street photography. Wealth composition in black and white works Skander is due to the fact that the artist perfectly captures the play of light and shadow, and shimmering reflections. Earlier Skander already photographed on the streets of Munich and Tokyo, this time it was the turn of Vienna. Every urban space in his pictures is unique, the photographer manages to capture the original character and moods of the city.
“I always try to understand the soul of each city. It is important for me to find something specific that characterizes the place itself and the people living there. Vienna is a wonderful city, peaceful and full of colors, bright colors. You can feel the history on every corner, and that’s what I tried to convey in this sequence”, – told Skander, Hlif. “I don’t do cards, do not remove the cumbersome scenery, I want the audience looking at all the things, places and other people differently than I used to, digging themselves deeper into the essence of what they saw,” he added.
