To transport the remaining ammunition allocated 100 million hryvnia, says head of VR Committee on national security.
As a result of the fire at the Arsenal in Balakleya in Kharkiv region Ukraine has lost ammunition for a billion dollars. This was stated by the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on national security and defence Sergiy Pashinskiy in the air of channel 5.
“However, what a tragedy Balakliya? Lay tens of thousands of munitions capable and tens of thousands of ammunition unfit for combat. When I went to this chain reaction, we lost a billion dollars of ammunition,” he said.
He explained that Ukraine inherited from the Soviet Union millions of tons of ammunition. Some of them still need the state. According to Pashinsky, the government has allocated UAH 100 million for transportation costs of dispersal ammunition “you have left”.
“The (ammunition – ed.) that we need, should be kept in special concrete vaults with fire-extinguishing systems”, – he said.
