The President of the United States Donald trump is offering to increase funding to NATO. It was declared by the Deputy NATO Secretary General, rose Gottemoeller, commenting on the initiative trump for the reform of the Alliance.
As noted, Gottemoeller met today with the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman, during which, in particular, noted that the increased contributions of the member countries of NATO will help to increase the assistance provided Ukraine.
“President trump did not want to reduce funding, he wanted the opposite, to encourage all allies, so they increased their expenditure is now 2%, for example, of GDP on defense. Those countries should raise their defense spending, their investments in defense, to provide additional resources…I expect more resource at our disposal. I don’t know what percentage will be provided to Ukraine”, – said Gottemoeller.
