Christer, Bjorkman explained why to open a live broadcast of the contest will not Jamal.
Many Eurovision fans were surprised by the fact that the first during the broadcast of the contest will be not a winner, as is the usual case and “outside” (relative to “Eurovision”) the artist. That is, not Jamal, and МONATIК.
My opinion on this issue has already expressed PR Director Jamala’s Dennis Kozlowski. But how to explain this situation the organizers of the contest:
– The idea of “Eurovision”-2017 is to show the diversity of Ukraine – the country with rich traditions and modern development, says show producer of Eurovision song contest Christer, Bjorkman. Every year the organizers create a unique creative concept of the show.
The opening of the first semi-final in Ukraine will start with demonstration of a video that shows the beauty and uniqueness of the Ukrainian folk costume. And to complement the concept of diversity, we were invited to perform modern multiartist МONATIКa. And the headliner of the first semi-final will be Jamal.
Yes, sometimes the show opened last year’s winners, but this year, the same as it was in Denmark and Azerbaijan as well as other talented artists.
He expressed his opinion on the subject and Executive producer of “Eurovision”-2017 Paul Gritsak:
– We’re very grateful to Jamal for her victory at the Eurovision song contest in Sweden and for this holiday in Ukraine is because of her. That is why for the first time in the history of the competition last year’s winner will perform three songs: two in the semi-finals on may 9, one in the Grand final on 13 may.
Yes, one of the songs performed by Jamala will sound during the commercials. And so it will not see in countries where the broadcast is interrupted on an ad. But it is normal practice and is regulated broadcaster in each country separately.
Unfortunately, I just this morning received a request from the producer of Jamala Igor Tarnopolsky move Jamala’s performance of the ad unit at the beginning of the show instead of Mantica. But it is impossible today for technical and operational reasons.
Final scenario plans were sent to all broadcasters and commentators provided on may 5, and any significant changes in the scenario plan 5 hours before the last General rehearsal with spectators and 12 hours before the live broadcast of the show put the bottom of the storm.
