The dismantling of the arms of the Soviet Union would be a violation of the law, said the Ministry of culture.
The Ministry of culture said that the dismantling of the Soviet coat of arms on the monument to Motherland in Kiev is a violation of the laws on the protection of cultural heritage and copyright and related rights.
Previously at the Institute of naramata stated that the framework of the de-communization of the Soviet coat of arms on the shield of the Motherland dismantled.
“With a view to preventing violations of the current legislation the issue of dismantling and replacement of Soviet symbols on the shield of the Monument should be studied from the point of view of the legislation of Ukraine on protection of cultural heritage and copyright and related rights”, – the Ministry said.
The Ministry said that the law prohibiting the use and propaganda of Communist symbols, does not apply to cases of its use in works of art created before the entry into force of this Law.
As you know, the Motherland was created in the late 70’s-early 80-ies.
